KoAm staff conducts an orientation and provides a Guidebook with all the information necessary for the exchange experience. KoAm will keep you updated about the student's arrival date and flight information. Host families are asked to pick up the student at the airport at arrival to U.S., and take him/her to the airport at departure from U.S. Your Area coordinator will also be at the airport to greet you and the student.

Contact KoAm at administrator@koameduall.org or phone (800-521-6640) to inquire about program. You may have a general idea on hosting, but may have additional questions. Talk directly with KoAm’s caring and welcoming staff. KoAm staff will also send you our host family information package via email so youmay become familiar with KoAm’s hosting details.
Review the host family application which will help you to finalize your decision to host a student. Sometimes going through the questions enables you to think things through. When you complete the application, KoAm staff will call you and set up a time to visit your family. The information here will help KoAm to find a student whose interest and activities best fit your family.
Your KoAm Area Coordinator conducts a home visit with your family to see the home environment and to discuss the various aspects of having an exchange student in your home. Our coordinator goes over the host family application again to make sure everything is clearly understood. With your permission, our coordinator takes pictures of your family, the residence and the bedroom where the student will be staying.
Along with the host family application, there are three documents to be submitted with a signature: Host Family Agreement, 2 Host Family References, and Publication Waiver. You may scan, mail or fax these documents to KoAm’s main office. You may also opt to provide the signed documents to KoAm’s area coordinator during the home visit. We will start selecting an exchange student who may be the best match for your family.
When we find an exchange student best fit for your family, we will send you the student's full profile and pictures. It includes information about the student's personality, interest, and preferred activities through short answers and essays. Please inform us your whether or not you approve of hosting the student. If there are some questions or concerns before approving, feel free to contact KoAm. We will answer any questions for you or find another student.
Once you approve the student, we provide your information to the student's Korean family. If our Korean family agrees, the match is done! We ask both families to contact each other by phone or email to introduce and get to know each other. The more you know each other before the student arrives, the better you will be prepared.

Your student arrives in the United States! Your family comes to the airport to pick up your student. Bring a welcome sign! Host family is also asked to take the student to the airport at departure. Your area coordinator will be at the airport to greet you and the students.
