KoAm Student Exchange Program

KoAm's Student Exchange Program provides American private schools and host families with exchange experiences by hosting Korean students 4th through 12th grade. KoAm students may come to America for a short term visit, a semester or for many years to graduate the high school. The students usually arrive at the beginning of the academic year, but some may join during the school year.  Students are at an impressionable age, absorbing and learning American culture and language, as well as, providing cultural exchange. 

Hosting an exchange student often means that you have added a wonderful new member to your family, much like having an adopted son or daughter from overseas. The host family willingly provide meals, a bed, and transportation; sharing their life, love, and time with an exchange student who is not yet familiar with American customs and values. KoAm students are eager to participate in your family's leisure activities. They also want to learn about our country by living as a "native" rather than as a guest or tourist. When they return to Korea, KoAm students will bring the sense of appreciation about the United States with them. This wonderful experience will help them grow as future leaders of Korea to forge global harmony. 

KoAm started this unique exchange in 2006, and all of us at KoAm have witnessed so many wonderful stories. Hundreds of host families have learned that having a new son or daughter from a different culture is truly a blessing. At the same time, our member schools have enjoyed the positive changes that these young students bring to the school community.
