Having a welcoming and accepting school and classroom atmosphere is a very important feature of KoAm’s member schools. KoAm’s exchange students have been prepared well about living in America, but they’re still scared about how American people will treat them. Please encourage your class to extend a welcoming and kind heart to the exchange student who came all the way from across the globe to live in another country for a year.

Let them know that the student needs lots of love and encouragement. The exchange students come to a new set of rules and different socially acceptable behavior, so allow some room for adjustment. They will learn how to behave like an American student very quickly.
